Once again, the Mancini’s and Skruodys’ were off to Fort Lauderdale to sail on the worlds largest ship, Royal Caribbean’s Harmony of the Seas. This ship is a combination of the Quantum Class and the Oasis Class. The best features taken from each class.
After a day at sea, we arrived at Labadee, Royal Caribbean’s private island. Here we enjoyed a barbecue lunch and some R & R in a beautiful setting.
This ship is the newest of the fleet and is drop dead gorgeous. Below is the boardwalk with the inside balconies overlooking the restaurants, shops and the aqua theater in the back of the ship. There are several shows that take place there that feature high divers and choreographed dance routines.
Formal nights!
We learned that if we asked our waiter the day before to bring us a plate of prosciutto and cheese as an appetizer, they were happy to do that. Every night. Whether you wanted it or not! LOL
The Broadway production show on this ship is Grease, and they did it justice. Great music and dancing and the audience couldn’t help but get up on their feet and dance!
Our next stop…….Falmouth, Jamaica. Since we were never there before, we thought it would be a good idea to take a tour. There’s not much in Falmouth, but it was great to get out of the “tourist area” and see the town. You couldn’t help but notice the smell of marijuana as we drove through the residential neighborhoods. Very poor area that depends on tourism.
Back on the ship…………
Our next stop…..Cozumel, Mexico. Once again, we simply got off the ship, walked to the taxi stand and asked for a tour. They were happy to oblige with a tour around the island, including a stop and tour of a tequila factory. We ended our tour back at the port where we stopped at Senior Frog’s for some lunch and entertainment.
Back at the ship, we enjoyed the ice show. It’s always amazing to us how these skaters can perform on the ice on a moving ship! Amazing technology too!
No photo’s allowed during the performance, but this was the stage.
Our last show, Columbus, was a parody of Christopher Columbus discovering America. Hilarious!
This was a great cruise with great friends. The only thing that could have made it better is if Kos took 1st Place in the slot tournament instead of 2nd. First Place won a CRUISE!
Thanks for playing but you did not win.
ReplyDeleteAlthough she will vehemently deny it, Karen was substituting for the daredevil woman on the high wire during the water show. If you want proof, did you see ANY pictures of Karen during said water show?
