Burgers, brats, dogs, chicken and salads were enjoyed by all. Nephew, Mark, was the big winner at Left, Right Center! Congratulations Mark.

Good bye SoBe
Enjoyed our 2 weeks here in South Beach. Weather was not bad. Expected lots of rain, heat and humidity this time of year, but it seems Florida has been in a drought. Beach was great, except for some wind. Ocean warm. Looking forward to getting back to Smithville and staying put for a while.

South Beach
Loving our time here this week. Beach has been beautiful, except for some wind. We’ve been enjoying our books and simply relaxing. Almost no one is in our building, so it’s very quiet. Lula can’t understand where our friends are. Last weekend was Urban Beach Weekend here which was a disaster – again this year. Lots of violence, barbaric and uncivilized behavior. Tonight we’ll attend a community rally at City Hall to try to stop this event from continuing next year. Planning to have dinner on Lincoln Road first and a movie afterwards.

This rally to end Urban Beach Weekend was well attended and peaceful. After 10 years of violence, overcrowding, shootings, filth, lewd behavior, intimidation and noise – South Beach residents came out to say “ENOUGH IS ENOUGH”.
