Polka Weekend– Jimmy Sturr Christmas Dinner Dance - Dec. 3, 2011
A fantastic weekend at the Inn at Hunts Landing in Matamoras, Pennsylvania. Friends, Joan and Stan and Kos and I enjoyed dinner, dancing and a fabulous show by Jimmy Sturr and his orchestra.
Above – Joan and I with Jimmy Sturr.
Afterwards, we had our own party in the lobby of the hotel - Actually, it was more like a “pig out”. Lots of laughs with Joan and Stan.
The hotel had a wonderful breakfast included in the price of the room. After breakfast we took a walk around the property which is located on the Delaware River.
We had a view of the monument at High Point State Park from the hotel.
After checking out, we drove up to the monument with a plan to hike one of the trails – but changed our mind after a short walk. Too steep for my bionic knees.
Beautiful views from the top of the mountain. You can see New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania.
The Inn at Hunts Landing has a lot to offer. We received their calendar which lists the many festivals that are offered throughout the year. April – PolkaFest, May – Italian Fest, June – Big Band, July – Country Western, August – Hawaiian Luau, September – Apple Fest, October – Octoberfest etc. etc. We all agreed that we should return again.

Historic Smithville Village–11/26/11
As an end to a great Thanksgiving Weekend, the boys wanted to go to the Village before going home. After a visit to the candy store, sports shop and a ride on the train, we stopped in to Augies Doggies for lunch. Then to WaWa for a slurpie. A perfect day!

Storybook Land–November 25, 2011
Today we decided to take advantage of the unseasonably warm weather and go to Storybook Land to see Santa and the Christmas Light show. At dusk, Santa comes out of the chimney of his cottage and waves a magic wand to light up the park with over one million lights. It was unbelievable. Vasili and Elias were spellbound by all of the beautiful light displays. There was even some snow!
